Thumbs up to new preform AV enabler!

I heard that the recent version of Preform AV Enabler had the ability to queue people for BGs other than AV. It does, but it has drawbacks. But at least it doesn’t take 45 minutes to get into a preform group.

We went in with eight people to start, and added a ninth. Unfortunately for that person we only did one BG because I had other things to attend to (like cooking a delicious salmon dish with a citrus reduction sauce).

Here’s what the window looks like for the leader:

Notice four columns with four sets of buttons. For us, we queued for WSG, AB and EOTS (as you can see). We had to drop AB and WSG before we all got into EOTS about 10 minutes later.

My personal opinion is Blizzard shouldn’t have screwed over the PVP guilds to begin with but we have to live with it. This is better than waiting 45 minutes to get into a bg.

If you are going to queue like this, you probably shouldn’t try with more than 10 people. The spaces available are far fewer comparable to group size than AV. If you try to get even 20 people into AV there’s a decent chance after a few queue cycles. If you try to get 15 into a 15-man BG, it’s probably better to queue as a group and wait the 45 minutes for a certain matchup.

But it seems queue times have gone down overall. Maybe it’s because of the daily quests. Or maybe the new PVE content. I really don’t track that stuff, but once it wears off people will be back to PVP.

This was taken when the AB queue popped above.

Saturday EOTS briefing

Not much to report, other than we had lots of fun and only lost one game all day. I’m sure our mail is overflowing with EOTS marks.

We also did some WSG so one of us could get the black wolf. I’m sure you’ve noticed most of the screens I take we’re basically winning. I do that because I need to heal people, and when I take a screen, I remove my cluttered UI and then push the “print screen” key. When that happens I get a good 2-3 second lag time where someone could easily die.

Here we see Huller carrying the flag in WSG. About 2-3 seconds after I took this shot, he was dead, and wondering where the heals were. Well, now you know! (And knowing is half the battle!)

Friday EOTS and a revelation

First the fighting! What fun! We didn’t have a full premade, which always makes things unpredictable.

I don’t get this guy! We’re four-capping, what else are we supposed to do? I had to laugh. Hard.

Mage tower assault

We won all of our games (including a four-cap against a 14-man Doomhammer premade) except against a Kel Thuzad premade , and in that game, though we lost 2000 to about 600. We had them three capped toward the end. Our biggest challenge when not running a full <Fight on the Flag> premade is trying to get the PUGs to stop following! It’s annoying but I can’t blame them, safety in numbers and all that.

Bear form will not save you!

QOTD: EOTS weekend

Various musings from people around the server. Of course, how could I start this off without a little FotF promotion:

Saturday we warmed up before EOTS with some Valley. Of course Allies try to push through the back, and that’s where the most fun for pvp can be had. We always defend right between the two towers and hope that offense does its job. It’s a surprisingly effective tactic, because if you break the Allied first charge, they tend to become disorganized. I don’t have screens of the actual fight, so you’ll have to trust me. But about 11 Horde fought 30 allies. We scraped by, just barely.

A good friend of ours, Moodred, commented on one of my recruitment messages:

That’s all she wrote. Keep an eye out for a post about how 2.4 is going to affect pvp.

Worst. EOTS. Ever.

Right now <Fight on the Flag> is kind of a small guild. The only premade we’ve been able to do in house only were WSG. Unfortunately when we try to rule the EOTS world, sometimes things go bad. Very bad.

It’s really too bad that I don’t have screenshots of battle action to prove it, but really how helpful is a shot of my dead twink druid with barely over 100 resilience anyway? Not very.

So instead, I have a picture of a map. More about why this sucked below.

Saturday pvp: EOTS

Eye of the Storm! After we had about five people, we really started rolling, but I think the deciding factor of our constant success was Stomples, Huller’s geared PVP warrior. Here are some pics:

As you can see, we do indeed fight on the flag! More proof below.
