Getting our PVP mojo back
Now that 2.4 has been out for a couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a disturbing trend. Less PVP in this guild that was founded on it. I know everyone is disappointed in the change, myself definitely included. But we have to move on and figure out how to overcome this.
Personally I have given up all hope that Blizzard will ever treat PVPers as equal to the PVE crowd. We are and will remain second class players in Blizzard’s eye. At the moment, many of us are biding time until Age of Conan (~October 30) or Warhammer (Nov. 2008) are released.
But why wallow in self pity for six months? Why not try to have some fun? What are our options with this new patch?
1. Give up. Blizzard wants us all to be PVE whores. We must give in to the Borg, leave FotF and give in to the BORG!
2. Queue for BGs only in teams of five. This provides with reasonable queue times, but the downside is playing with retarded Horde who don’t care if they win or lose the game. (Organdonar/Spitey should understand this one fairly well).
3. Play only in Valley as a guild because at least we can still use AV preform enabler. With a larger group we can also make a big difference in the game of AV. We can turtle, make the PVE whores cry, and laugh as we take Snowfall.
4. We show Deathwing what a PVP server is supposed to be. We bring havoc and destruction upon the Alliance, wherever they might be. We can have scouting parties to see where they are. We make them cry and whine and wish they never rolled on a PVP server. As for where we should carry out our plans, I suggest the newest PVE zone: Isle of Quel’Danas. Everyone and their dog wants to be there and do the daily quests.
I have to say, 3 and 4 sound like really good options. Wouldn’t it be nice if FotF got a reputation for great World PVP? Option 1 is definitely not an option at all for me. For some people, maybe, and I understand why because it would be the path of least resistance.
Lastly, I notice there are quite a few guildies who are not participating in PVP as of late. I understand why. Maybe you are in a waiting pattern to see what will happen with PVP. Maybe you are just here because there’s nothing better to do. I hope that can change. I hope you will want to participate in our events.
